I woke up years ago with this great title in my head. I sat down with my guitar and came up with the first line of the chorus: “I’ve got Faith In The Feeling I’m feeling for you.” I thought, hey!It’s another love song to my wife.
I pushed ahead and quickly finished the song, but it just never felt right. I loved the title and the melody, but the lyrics didn’t touch me. So, the song sat in my catalog…waiting.
Fast forward several years, I felt God urging me to write and record a Christian album. This song immediately popped back into my head. I felt God telling me, “Please take another look at this.”
This time, I understood. Years earlier, I had pushed hard to take the song where I thought it should go. What God helped me realize was that I needed to stop pushing and let Him “pull” me to where the song needed to go.
It was at that point, I felt I could testify about my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the faith I have found in following where He leads.
Sometimes we push so hard toward where we think we’re supposed to go that we miss where God is leading us.
My hope is that “Faith In The Feeling” will encourage others to trust where He leads and experience the true peace that Jesus can bring.
